For this year’s CosmoTV Bachelor Search, I had the uber lucky job of sitting down and interviewing our Top 12 bachelors. I was expecting hours of generic boy answers and sly grins but what I came away with were some sublimely lovely male insights and a few crushes.

Our 2010 CosmoTV Bachelor of the Year, Ryan, was no exception. He is rather easy on the eyes – aka - he’s a total babe. But that’s not all. Read below and get to know our pick for Canada’s finest, then you can join me in his fan club.

Ryan

Occupation: High School Teacher

My first question was why he thought he should be the CosmoTV Bachelor.

Ryan: That's a tough question, why should I be the bachelor of the year? Honestly, I don't know. I'm sure all the other candidates are good looking guys, probably really nice. I don't know, I don't really have an answer.

Aww such a nice guy – but I wanted the dirt. So I called him back after he won and asked; if it hadn’t been you, who would you have chosen and why?

Ryan: I hung out with Bobby and Joey a lot at the shoot and they were just really nice and down to earth guys. I obviously wanted to be chosen but if it wasn’t me then I was hoping that it would have been one of them.

So now I knew who he formed a bromance with but I wanted to know what he looks for in a girlfriend.

Ryan: She'd definitely have to be independent, have a good sense of herself and what she wants in life. Obviously, she has to be beautiful, good family, lots of friends, enjoys sports as well. I like a girl that's going to go out of her comfort zone.

Lisa: And then he lost me…

Ryan: I mean myself personally I'm an avid jogger, I do triathlons. If she's right there beside me that really scores some points in my book.
Lisa: So I knew I was not the girl for him but I also knew there would be a few hardcore runners out there that were swooning.

So I continued to ask some very important and in depth questions like what he sleeps in…

Ryan: It depends. I usually sleep in my underwear. My dog normally sleeps with me so that would be kind of weird if I slept naked.

His best pick up line…

Ryan: Honestly I think the best pickup line is, "Hi, my name is Ryan, what's your name?" Just be true, just be honest, just be open. Don't play games.

His celebrity female crush…

Ryan: Jessica Alba – I’ve always liked her because I like brunettes and she is exotic looking.

And finally his favourite female body part.

Ryan: For sure the neck. It’s something to nibble on and it’s a really sensitive spot for her, which I enjoy.

Lisa: I also tried to pry for some juicy secrets from him but the only thing that he admitted was:

Ryan: People would probably not know that I'm always willing to learn. I do enjoy reading. I'm currently taking French classes. I eventually want to teach French.

Lisa: Which only made me crush more. Ryan is a high school teacher and when I asked if his students were aware of his new-found bachelor title he confessed…

Ryan: No my students really don't know about this, but I'm sure it will leak out somewhere and they'll come up to me and say, “I saw you on TV” and I’ll try to say, “no it wasn't me, it was my brother”. I'll try and play it off.

Lisa: I think the secret’s out, but don’t worry Ryan, you have nothing to hide.
