Rags to Red Carpet brings the glitz and glam of Hollywood into the lives of women who are in desperate need of a makeover. With the help of our team of top stylists and beauty professionals, each woman goes through a complete transformation that includes face, teeth, hair, makeup and wardrobe. It is rags to red carpet in one week!

It all starts at the movie theatre. Each woman is nominated by a friend or family member who brings her to the movies under false pretenses. They enter the theatre, the lights go down and the trailer that comes on screen stars our unknowing participant. Surprise! Her life story is told as a horror flick, comedy, or suspense film - with titles like ‘Crouching Emily, Hidden Emily,’ ‘From Runway to Runaway Bride,’ and ‘The Mummy.’ Our participant is shocked when the trailer depicts her looking her everyday worst on the big screen – rolls of fat, missing teeth, bad skin.

When the lights go up, our embarrassed girl is even more shocked to discover that the audience includes her friends and family! She has been exposed in front of everyone she knows – could it get any worse?

She gets whisked off in a limo to undergo a week of treatments. Using the latest beauty technology including bodyscanning, makeup colour matching, hair, skin and dental procedures, we give our star-to-be a complete transformation. Our professional stylists share tips with the home viewers about beauty and fashion. As well, our participant visualizes her transformation as we work with her on a movie poster concept for the starring role of her life – that is, a poster for the new red carpet star, not the former rag lady.

For the final reveal, friends and fans wait anxiously as our star pulls up to the theatre in a stretch limo. She steps out in a dazzling gown and glittering jewelry, her hair and makeup ready for the spotlight. She does a red carpet walk for the paparazzi and her adoring fans, friends and family. As our host Liz grabs the first interview with our breathless star, we see highlights of her transformation including sneak peeks of her gorgeous day and evening looks. Finally, the show ends as a giant movie poster of our star is unfurled in the theatre.

As fans and friends gather around our star, we hear some final excited comments about her complete transformation and the show closes just as our star’s premier party kicks into high gear.
